In our agriculture, we focus on the production of quality food, in
harmony with nature and the natural requirements of our animals.
Own production - from the land to the table
We are one of the few establishments in the Gallura, which serves almost
100% of the food produced at our own land.
Meat
Cattle, sheep, pigs
In the area of meat production, this means that our animals are kept
free all
over the year on our hughe grasslands.
We don't use any additional feed, antibiotics, genetically modified
contents or chemical additives.
Sausages and ham specialties at Agriturismo Canu
We are especially proud of the many Sardinian kinds of sausages which are
produced in our house.
We have developed a method
completely free on chemical additives such as nitrite salt and other.
At Agriturismo Canu you have the possibility to taste housemade prosciutto crudo
(ham), different kind of sausages, coppa, lardo, pancetta, Guancale, salami. They all
are prepared with a special blend of herbs and dried long time in our
basements to ripe.
Our
Guests can taste all these during their stay.

Cheese
Pecorino cheese, crema di pecorino, fresh ricotta
about 400 sheeps are "working" at our Farm for our House-speciality, the
sardinian sheep-cheese Pecorino. As one of the most famous producers,
our guests can take a look, during ther stay to the production zone. Our
Cheese is mostly selled to fine Restaurants and Hotels at the costa
Smeralda's coast.
Vegetables
On our 3,000 square-meters vegetable garden in
the Mediterranean Full sun ripe vegetables such as eggplant, peppers,
bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, onions and
wonderfull fragrant herbs such as basil, oregano, parsley, and much
more. In midsummer, many kinds of Melons ripe in the sun and come fresh
every evening on the table in our Restaurant.
Thanks to the mild and favorable climate in Sardinia, we are able to
provide us almost all year round from our large vegetable gardens.
Our
Dinners in the Restaurant are adapted to seasonal conditions and
availability from our garden.
